Junior and High School Scholarships

AHC FILMS provides 100 four-year education scholarships each year to qualified, impoverished junior high and high school students in Rural America, Kenya, Honduras, and Colombia.

Scholarships are awarded to students attending top-tier private boarding schools and include:

  • Full tuition
  • Books and study materials
  • Uniforms
  • Approved extracurricular activities
  • Golf and soccer equipment and club memberships
  • A modest weekend stipend

To retain the scholarship, students must consistently rank in the top 10% of their class.
Falling below this standard results in forfeiture of remaining funds—ensuring accountability, excellence, and long-term success.

Funded by American Hope Charities, Corp., a 501 (c) (3) public benefit nonprofit, this program invests in impoverished junior high and high school students in Rural America, Kenya, Honduras, and Colombia.

Scholarships are awarded to students attending top-tier private boarding schools. To retain the scholarship, students must consistently rank in the top 10% of their class. Application Requirements

To apply for, students must:

1.  Submit a brief biography (200-600 words) telling us about yourself and where you see yourself as a student/scholar moving forward.

2.  Submit an essay (750-1,200 words) responding to the prompt below.

Essay Prompt

How are current events affecting your life and the lives of family members? Provide three specific examples and explain how these experiences are shaping your goals, values, and vision for the future.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be selected on:

  • Ambition,
  • Drive,
  • Potential for impact.

Students must email application submissions to: jrb@ahcfilms.org with the subject line: AHCFilmsScholarshipApplication_Lastname_Firstname.

Be sure to attach three documents:

  • Brief biography. (Name your file: Biography_Lastname_Firstname. Formatted in .doc, .docx, .pdf, or .rtf only please)
  • Essay (Name your file: Essay_Lastname_Firstname. Formatted in .doc, .docx, .pdf, or .rtf only please)
  • Optional: You may also include a short (300 words or less) email cover letter message with your application materials. 

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP.

Scholarships Awards Jury

The award board consists of five jurors. Three members of AHC Films board of directors, A member of a Board of Education and a member of the community being served.

Funding and Disposition Timeline

Scholarships funds received from private and corporate donors are distributed by AHC Films to the individual’s boarding-school for the funds to cover:

  • Full tuition
  • Books and study materials
  • Uniforms
  • Approved extracurricular activities
  • Golf and soccer equipment and club memberships
  • A modest weekend stipend
